"Infantile Vulva"
The "girlparts" are made of the outer piece which is a "vulva" and that structure needs a minute to grow up. And some puppies are a little slow about it.
Sometimes the vulva is still a recessed little 'button' by the time they're spayed. Some organizations with Facebook Consultants (not vets) will spay or neuter when a puppy is "two pounds" without regard to....well....pretty much anything, but.... "what do you want for nothing?"
IF the pet is spayed while the vulva is small, or recessed it will REMAIN 'infantile' and can potentially be a problem for urinary tract infections and chronic irritation. So, a Vet should notice if the pet still has a recessed vulva. It's ALSO possible to have "infantile vulva" when a normal dog simply gets fat. Like almost all dogs. They're not fat, they're ridiculously 'big boned'. Having nothing to do with the condensed milk and bacon added to the diet to 'make it eat' (and push it to BCS 7)
ANyway a fat dog can have infantile vulva and there's a surgery to fix that and it works really well and heals really fast. An incision is made surgically under anesthesia (unless Facebook Experts say it's okay to do awake) but the fold of skin is removed and stitched up. Presto.
Other dogs just have to lose weight. And THAT is easy. Feed a measured amount of dry food served absolutely dry and UNaugmented twice a day.
Oxyfresh has been around a VERY long time and still hasn't been surpassed. I love the water additive. I recommend it's made fresh daily with distilled water, and for bad mouths - double strength. Always safe. this will NOT dissolve tartar but it will kill germs, reduce pus and infection and keep teeth from getting "bad" if they're not already. Kit includes gel and brushes. Oxyfresh complete dental kit. |
