There's a powder you can put in your coffee or your pet's food that strengthens the bowel. Against cancer, infections, malabsorption and loose or over-firm poops.
Your Mom knew what she was talking about when she said "Eat Your Vegetables" because there's 'magic' in vegetables. Especially if you don't wash the ones grown in healthy natural soil.
They figured out what's in Kale, Collards, Squash, Beans and all that 'green stuff' some of us hate. There's 'roughage' which is 'insoluble' fiber that gives our bowels a workout. Great.
Perhaps more importantly there's 'soluble' fiber. That's food for the beneficial germs in our bowels and when taken regularly it stimulates the health and activity of gut lining-cells - the absorbent cells of the intestine by activity and length of the villi. It's good for your bowel and indisuputably combats cancer.
They figured all this out, and realized it's mainly the soluble fiber that's the MOST beneficial part of vegetables. Then they figured out WHAT soluble fiber: "INULIN" and it's found lots of places in lots of vegetables.
Then someone packed up INULIN from the roots of a (literally) WEED all over the world. Chicory.
Chicory root has been used (once roasted) as a replacement for coffee since the 1800's at least. Much easier to get and "almost as good" as coffee.
But in this powdered form it's like canned pumpkin in a tiny spoon.
"Dosing" FOS powder is basically using at least 1/8th tsp but you don't have to be that careful. If I was adding it to my 60-pounder's food, (Ajax) I'd use a full tablespoon. Above that even if the dog's 100+ pounds I'd probably place a top=end at 2 tbsp. Once or twice a day.
For a tiny chihuahua I'd use 1/8th to 1/4 teaspoon with each feeding, and assesss the second through fourth poop afterwards. The first poop after starting FOS powder is NOT indicative of what the bowels will do with it.
If you have a question, I'd like to eventually include it here. Call 770 977 5377 with any questions.

This is the Chicory Root Inulin Soluble Fiber I get from Amazon. It's a semi-sweet very fine white powder with no real 'flavor' and I put it in my coffee every morning. You can dust a dog's food with it, and/or use canned pumpkin as well to 'tint' the food orange-ish. Not 'swimming' in pumpkin. This FOS powder is easier.

![]() | Labra Dog Canine K9 Knee Stifle Brace Wrap Metal Hinged Flexible Support Treat ACL CCL Luxating Patella Cruciate Ligament Sprain Strain Tear Injuries I couldn't get behind these until this one came out. It has a strap that keeps the thing from sliding down. THAT strap has a strap that keeps the thing from rolling down off the dog's rump. And the whole thing does NOT wrap around his weiner area (which would have been fine for a female dog of course) so this one has THREE key engineering points. Buy the proper knee brace and put it on tight! |
