SIDE FAIL Sometimes it happens that a dog has a tender mouth for decay, gum disease etc. And they'll make the choice to start eating on the LEAST PAINFUL side.
Well, what happens is that the side they chew with, stays KIND OF okay.
But the side NOT BEING USED *rapidly* slides into *more* decay and infection.
THE BIG PROBLEM: Once a dog "sides" with their mouths, BONES and dental exercise don't work AT ALL anymore. That's because they're only gonna chew on the side that hurts LEAST.
The only way dental exercise works is if the DOG CHEWS WITH BOTH SIDES.
When your dog 'sides' one or the other, you get backed into a corner: "Let the mouth decay or get their teeth cleaned." And I empathize, that's not a 'simple' decision because of expense and often, AGE of the pet.
When your dog has "SIDED" in it's mouth and while one side looks "almost okay" the other side is becoming disastrous. Without intervention, this will amount to illness and pain on the side they're neglecting.
I wouldn't mention this to you without you being able to SEE FOR YOURSELF. Just pull up the lips and look at the back teeth. You'll see one side is 'merely gross' and then the other side is pretty wrecked with infection, loose teeth and swelling.
Tooth "Siding". The ONE time beef-bones probably can't fix their ills.

You can buy a fat bundle of 'wet wipes' with Cetaphil and I'd recommend it. They're great for cleaning healing wounds, dirty ears, cleansing around some eyes, under-tails, surgery sites, sores.
They are ALSO available right down the street at just about any store that sells makeup or cotton balls. So good.
