Skin folds around the eyes, nose, and tail in certain breeds, especially English Bulldogs can get oily, yeasty and infected.
They can become painful or itchy.
Clean these with CETAPHIL WIPES. It's the easiest and the best way to clean there.
Then, in any fold that the dog CANNOT LICK, put a thin 'film' of "DESITIN" which is for kids with Diaper Rash.
It water proofs, kills germs (with the zinc) and soothes. And best of all, it stays in for a long time.
Dogs should not ingest much of it. So if they can lick it, STOP.
If a dog got a lot of Desitin or ate a tube of it - they would be very very sick.
So You: Use CETAPHIL then DESITIN
I can surgically remove or widen the majority of skin folds. That's ALMOST NEVER important.

Cetaphil Wipes
Are "god's gift to pet owners"
They're EASY
They're cheap
They're a "cleanser" without being a detergent.
Why does THAT matter? Because you can clean various crusty areas and NOT worry about rinsing.
And regular use can keep an area infection free and reduce inflammation.
Where to get?
any drugstore like Walmart, CVS, Target etc.

Sporn Dog Halter STOPS "pulling and tugging" NOW. (Link)This is what I use now, with my dog Ajax. I used to use the Gentle Leader, but I didn't like including his face in the thing. Now, this just goes around his chest and he DOES NOT PULL ANY MORE. It's great! Amazon.com has it. |
You can buy a fat bundle of 'wet wipes' with Cetaphil and I'd recommend it. They're great for cleaning healing wounds, dirty ears, cleansing around some eyes, under-tails, surgery sites, sores. |
