Vitamin C packs a powerful punch for the immune system, collagen thickness (in joints and skin) and also resistance to infections.
It speeds skin-recovery. Check out a Google of "Linus Pauling Ascorbic Acid"
How to use it?
Buy Vitamin C wherever you'd get "people" Vitamin C also known as Ascorbate.
At first, Vitamin C is 'acidic' and if you start with too much at one time, it can upset the stomach. I've never encountered this in a dog so far.
Start low.
A 40 pound dog might get 250mg twice a day for a few days.
If that's fine, increase to 500mg twice a day.
The goal is a gram, (1000mg) or more once or twice a day.

Even a way to use the powdered Vitamin C even though I prefer the capsules. I was trying to use powdered vitamin C for myself and it's too tangy.
This has super economy because EACH tablet is 1000mg - instead of "Serving Size 2 tablets = 1000mg"
They're tangy. So....I swallow them with water but a dog shouldn't mind in a dab of peanut butter. Or broken up in a little canned food or even popped down their throat.
This is from Amazon. It's the best deal on Vitamin C.

![]() | Labra Dog Canine K9 Knee Stifle Brace Wrap Metal Hinged Flexible Support Treat ACL CCL Luxating Patella Cruciate Ligament Sprain Strain Tear Injuries I couldn't get behind these until this one came out. It has a strap that keeps the thing from sliding down. THAT strap has a strap that keeps the thing from rolling down off the dog's rump. And the whole thing does NOT wrap around his weiner area (which would have been fine for a female dog of course) so this one has THREE key engineering points. Buy the proper knee brace and put it on tight! |
