Puppies lose ALL their "first" or "baby" teeth by the time they're 20 weeks old.
But. Sometimes a puppy won't properly shed a baby tooth. And the adult tooth comes in BESIDE the baby tooth not behind it. That's basically two teeth in the socket and "stuff" gets caught in the space between them. You'll wonder why you don't want a kiss from 'stinky-face' because that situation smells bad.
Well, it also pushes the good tooth out of it's proper position which can be a "thing" sometimes. (Sometimes, not.)
It's a good idea to have a 'retained deciduous tooth' removed while they're young. Their mouths are healthier, more comfortable, smell better and the 'good' tooth lasts longer.
VERY often, the retained baby-tooth can be pulled when a young pet is altered (spay / neuter) without pain.

Sporn Dog Halter STOPS "pulling and tugging" NOW. (Link)This is what I use now, with my dog Ajax. I used to use the Gentle Leader, but I didn't like including his face in the thing. Now, this just goes around his chest and he DOES NOT PULL ANY MORE. It's great! Amazon.com has it. |
You can buy a fat bundle of 'wet wipes' with Cetaphil and I'd recommend it. They're great for cleaning healing wounds, dirty ears, cleansing around some eyes, under-tails, surgery sites, sores. |
