"Resources"

There are resources in Marietta for folks to help with things.

These are some of my favorites. There should be two of each. I have favorites and there's no doubt but sometimes a referral falls on someone who's unable to accomodate at the moment. Not taking new clients.

Susan Conner - Susan's Grooming - a very good groomer - with TONS of experience and a "way with animals" I met Susan thirty years ago because I sarcastically sent her the WORST Chowchow dog *ever* to see what that groomer could handle and the owner came back thanking me for the referral and "Susan did great" and from then on, Susan walks on water. I have sent her TERRIBLE awful dogs. And all the best ones too.

Brenda at Grooming Gallery - she's also been around a very long time. Before I met Susan she was Buster's groomer and she made him look so good, I *literally* did not recognize him once. He was so happy to be there, he kept running back to Brenda and I was like "Hey, I don't think THAT's my dog. Must be one that looks just like him." Not even kidding.

Jim and Marcia Wentzell at Passion for Pets handle some Boarding referrals when the dogs need to get on dirt, grass, and rough house with other robust dogs. Jim is also a good dog trainer. He believes that 'socialization' with other dogs paves the way to good manners with people. He's gentle.

Mutt Madness is my 'rescue of choice' so when someone donates a bag of food or some other stuff here at the clinic I'll offer it to them. They do a great job with their dogs.

Haven The Dog Spot is my favorite 'superclean' (no grass no dirt) boarding PlayCare facility. Barbara McCree and her daughter Kelly plus a handful of other long time friends of Haven provide superb care and the dogs are happy. Ajax stays there usually. I can watch him on their closed-circuit-Internet-Web-Cam and see that he's happy and hasn't been strapped to a board.

Oxyfresh has been around a VERY long time and still hasn't been surpassed. I love the water additive. I recommend it's made fresh daily with distilled water, and for bad mouths - double strength. Always safe. this will NOT dissolve tartar but it will kill germs, reduce pus and infection and keep teeth from getting "bad" if they're not already. Kit includes gel and brushes.

Oxyfresh complete dental kit.

BABYLTRL Dog Cone Collar for After Surgery, Soft Pet Recovery Collar for Dogs and Cats, Adjustable Cone Collar Protective Collar for Small Medium Large Dogs Wound Healing

Anymore these days companies are NOT making cones that are long enough to protect feet, OR stop head shaking. You really just need a cone. And this is the most important part - YOU HAVE TO BE ABLE TO FIX IT TO THE COLLAR because NO CONE is tight enough to resist a back foot pushing on it. And they'll do it! (Buy The Right One on Amazon)

Something else I found for my dog "Ajax" that's cool:

Sporn Dog Halter STOPS "pulling and tugging" NOW. (Link)

This is what I use now, with my dog Ajax. I used to use the Gentle Leader, but I didn't like including his face in the thing. Now, this just goes around his chest and he DOES NOT PULL ANY MORE. It's great! Amazon.com has it.

Dog Canine K9 Knee Stifle Brace Wrap

Labra Dog Canine K9 Knee Stifle Brace Wrap Metal Hinged Flexible Support Treat ACL CCL Luxating Patella Cruciate Ligament Sprain Strain Tear Injuries

I couldn't get behind these until this one came out. It has a strap that keeps the thing from sliding down. THAT strap has a strap that keeps the thing from rolling down off the dog's rump. And the whole thing does NOT wrap around his weiner area (which would have been fine for a female dog of course) so this one has THREE key engineering points.

Buy the proper knee brace and put it on tight!
