Keratin Cysts: Keratin Cyst Is a cyst filled up with 'Not Angry' white cells, wax, or keratin. They can sometimes be 'headless blackheads' and occasionally they're just a curled up hair in the skin. None of the above ever matters -UNLESS- Sometimes these 'underground' blackheads, or wax or keratin cysts can POP - and release their grossness UNDER THE SKIN! They're SUPPOSED to pop OUTWARD!!! But if the pop INTO the skin, and out under the skin - the body gets REALLY mad and there's a 'festering lump / sore' to result. And sometimes all that messy shananigan has to be cut out. Surgically. So, we're probably gonna leave this alone. Don't squeeze it. Hope it opens to the OUTSIDE and just disappears some day. Or, if the dog ever needs to be "asleep" (anesthetized) for any OTHER reason please remind me to remove this when they're down. Doc Johnson A Keratin Cyst Ruptures under the Skin Creating Fury. Something else I found for my dog "Ajax" that's cool: |
Sporn Dog Halter STOPS "pulling and tugging" NOW. (Link) This is what I use now, with my dog Ajax. I used to use the Gentle Leader, but I didn't like including his face in the thing. Now, this just goes around his chest and he DOES NOT PULL ANY MORE. It's great! Amazon.com has it. | |
| You can buy a fat bundle of 'wet wipes' with Cetaphil and I'd recommend it. They're great for cleaning healing wounds, dirty ears, cleansing around some eyes, under-tails, surgery sites, sores. | |
